CRHS Track & Field 2023
Our spring season begins on Thursday, March 16. This is
about two weeks later than past seasons. As you may know, the NJSIAA shortened
all athletic seasons beginning this year, but the competition schedule is
mostly the same. This means it is imperative for you to train prior to the time
our team workouts begin; if not, you will not be prepared for the beginning of
the season.
ALSO, I am trying to get a 4x400 entry for us into Penn
Relays. Since the winter 4x4 did not meet the qualifying standard we may need
to go to an early meet, 4/3, to try to qualify. I am askig 6 of you to begin
now to prepare for this race. We will have a run-off near the end of March to help
me determine who will represent us. To represent the CR team you will need to be able to run a 400m in under 54 seconds. If we are unable to produce 4 guys that meet that goal, then Penn Relays probably isn't a competition for us.
Please follow this training as we prepare. Be careful not to run too hard too soon, so that you don’t have a setback injury.
Beginning 2/27 – Train daily. Do a good warm up and drills
Mon, Wed and Fri; on Tue, Thur and Sat do a 30 min run, followed by 6 buildups
of 30 seconds each (at about 85% of max).
*Use this week to develop stride strength and muscle tone needed for harder training.
Beginning 3/6 – (check back)
